Good luck underground – with your family hotel
Towards the end of the 16th Century, Leogang was characterized by the mining industry. By 1831, 60 miners had produced a total of 7125 pounds of lead and 2400 pounds of copper and silver, which was known for its high quality and used to manufacture the famous Salzburger Silver Thaler.
On your holiday, you can follow in the miners’ footsteps and take a fascinating tour of the show mine in Leogang. Trained guides will take you through the complex collieries in the oldest mining area in the Salzburg area and introduce you to the difficult and dangerous work of the miners.
Remember to wear good walking shoes and warm clothes when you visit the mine. More information about the show mine is available at your family hotel or www.schaubergwerk-leogang.com.
