It has always been, and always will be, our top priority to deliver a holiday experience that is nothing less than perfect. It goes without saying that this includes doing everything in our power to safeguard your health and wellbeing. We want you to feel safe and welcome during your time with us. Therefore, we have implemented a range of precautionary measures designed to protect both our guests and staff without compromising your experience.

At the Salzburger Hof Leogang, social distancing does not mean you’ll feel any less at home than usual.

Measures for a safe and carefree holiday

During winter season 2022/23 and summer season 2023 the following cancellation policy applies: 

  • free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival

  • 14 days to 1 week before arrival 60% of the booking price will be charged

  • Cancellations with less than one week’s notice will be subject to a fee of 80% of the booking sum and for early departures we charge 90%.

Our check-in and check-out times remain the same. However, we do ask that you check-in online prior to your arrival. The required form will be sent to you via email. This is to ensure a quick and easy, contact-free check-in. There is no longer any 3G proof required for entering the hotel.

Our employees will keep the minimum required distance. In addition, we’ve installed a glass protection screen at reception. If possible, please use contact-free payment when checking out.

Saalfelden also offers a Covid-19 test centre. However, testing is only possible with prior registration, which can be submitted online here

Also for children no 3G proof is necessary.

Regulations for children: 

  • Children up to an age of 12 years old do not need any proof.
  • Children from the age of 12 need a proof:
    • Upon entry, 3G proof (vaccinated, recovered or PCR tested).
    • In certain customer areas, services close to the body, accommodation, gastronomy, sports facilities, recreational facilities, ski lifts, at events, etc. this must be a 3G proof.
  • For children and adolescents who are of compulsory school age in Austria (9 school years), the "Ninja Pass" applies. This is considered equivalent to a 2G proof. It is also valid for weekends. After completion of the ninth school year, all young people attending school in Austria must have a 2G pass. If identical tests are performed during the vacations at the defined test intervals of the school, this also counts as proof of 2G, analogous to the Ninja Pass. For children of school age who do not permanently reside in Austria, the same regulation applies as for children of school age in Austria during vacations. This includes consistently negative tests (of which at least 2 tests are PCR tests) during one calendar week.

The following certificates are considered 2G certificates:


• A recovery certificate is valid for 180 days.

• A doctor's confirmation is valid for 180 days after an infection with SARS-CoV-2 has expired. This must have been proven by molecular biology (e.g. PCR test).

• An official separation notice is also valid for 180 days.

Vaccinated: The EU-compliant vaccination certificate, the yellow vaccination pass, a vaccination card and a printout or PDF (e.g. on the mobile phone) of the data from the e-vaccination pass are valid as proof of vaccination.

What applies to people who have only received one dose of the corona vaccination (incomplete vaccination series)? For people who have received the 1st dose but not yet the 2nd dose of the corona vaccination, there is a transition period until December 6, 2021. In these cases, proof of vaccination for the 1st dose, together with a valid PCR test (72 hours), is valid 2-G evidence. A picture in the Green Pass is not possible.

We have always employed strict sanitation procedures, and we will continue to do so with special measures to keep both our guests and team safe. You can rest assured that we are doing our utmost to observe the highest cleaning standards throughout the hotel. Special attention is paid to high-touch surfaces, including door handles and areas in our public spaces. They are disinfected several times daily. Our linen and towels, as well as table cloths, are changed regularly and washed in accordance with the latest hygiene guidelines.

Every member of the team is regularly provided with detailed instruction on up-to-date requirements, measures and guidelines. They strictly adhere to any required safety measures and are happy to provide you with your own little safety bag at check-in, which contains your own individual hand sanitiser and more.

Should you require a doctor or need to go to the hospital during your stay with us, please talk to the reception. Our team will be happy to assist and also offer details on where to get tested.

There is no obligation to wear a mask in the hotel.


We are happy to say that you will be able to enjoy the full Salzburger Hof holiday experience without any restrictions. All hotel areas are open as usual and accessible in adherence with official safety and physical distancing measures.

Yes, they are. The number of guests allowed into the saunas or steam bath per session has been limited, but otherwise the facilities can be enjoyed as usual.

You can also look forward to the typical Salzburger Hof gourmet experience this summer. We continue to offer our plentiful breakfast buffet and various themed buffets throughout the week. Please note that special sanitation and physical distancing protocols apply for the use of our buffets. However, this should not have any impact on your culinary experience.

We are delighted to offer you our full range of activities as usual. Group sizes have been reduced to comply with official regulations. Otherwise, you can enjoy our programme without restriction. Please find our current schedule of guided trips and activities in our weekly programme.

There are no special regulations in the cable cars.
